Bear with me here, of course, but on my road trip in Japan on Street View, I’ve been sticking to the roads marked on the map in yellow that are closest to the coast.

Anyway, when I said ‘Next stop: Shibata City.’ in my last post of my road trip...well, it turned out that on the route I was taking, I only ended up in the borders of Shibata for 2 or 3 km, and there wasn’t anything of note in that short distance.

Now, I’ve crossed into Tainai City, and things are already different...

Like this classic !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , sitting in a lot WAY out on the outskirts, surrounded by all kinds of Japanese cars and trucks.

Heading along the coast isn’t the most exciting thing when all you see is flat land and the sea to your left, though it certainly is beautiful.

And this shows that you can never expect to spot something like this.

For folks here in the US, this could be fascinating, a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . We didn’t get the A3 until the second generation model.

An !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , for you rotary fans.

Soon after passing this Mazda, I saw a sign at an intersection and saw that I was likely gonna end up passing the center of another city.

Though, I think my fortunes may be turning positive once again, after spotting this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (Yes, these are officially sold in Japan.).

It seems you can hardly go anywhere in Japan without finding an !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! somewhere. Not that it’s a bad thing.

And how about a lifted 3-door !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ?

So, Shibata and Tainai ended up being rather lackluster. But at this point, I cross the border into Murakami, which will also be the last city I pass through before heading into the next prefecture.

Looking at the map, I’m actually gonna be heading into the city and away from the coast, meaning better chances of some great cars. That will come shortly.
